요즘 곳곳에 많이 생기고 있죠?
그런데 CCTV가 있어도 도난사건은 끊이지 않고 벌어지고 있는데요.
경찰이 범죄 심리를 억제할 새로운 아이디어를 냈습니다.
이지현 기자가 취재했습니다.
한 무인 점포에 들어선 초등학생.
박스째로 가져간 상품이 결제가 안 되자 낱개 제품을 수십 번 찍어 제값을 내고 갑니다.
이 학생의 모습이 보도되자 전국에서 칭찬이 쏟아졌습니다.
2021년 3월부터 1년 3개월 동안 무인 점포 절도는 신고된 것만 6300여 건.
그런데 검거된 건 절반 수준에 불과합니다.
키오스크 열쇠를 아예 부러뜨리고 가져간 남녀 커플도 있었고, 마스크 눈만 내놓고 아주 그냥 장갑까지끼고 훔쳐 가는 사람도 있었고.
인력 등 현실적인 한계로 고민하던경찰이 무인 점포 계산대에 영상 장비를 놨습니다.
충주경찰은 언제 어디서든 여러분의 곁을 지켜주고 있습니다.
순찰차와 CCTV 관제센터 모습을 보여주며 경찰이 항상 지켜보고 있다는 메시지를 줘 범죄 억제 효과를 노리는겁니다.
범죄가 생길 수밖에 없는 이런 환경 속에 놓이다 보면 자기도 모르게 할 수도 있는 상황이 있으니까.
양심 거울을 설치한 제주에서는 석달 동안 피해 신고가 절반 넘게 줄어든 만큼 비슷한 효과를 기대하고 있습니다.
아이들이 '사장님 이게 뭐예요?' 그러면 이거는 어린아이들이 계산을 잘하고있나 보고 있는 겁니다.
충동적으로 휩쓸릴 수 있는 어린이들에게 더 명확하고 엄중한 경고의 메시지가 필요하다는 지적도 있습니다.
무인 판매점 내에서 행하는 범법행위는 처벌을 받을 수 있다고 하는 그런 경고 방송을 주기적으로 하는 것도 일종의 효과가 있을 거라고 봅니다.
경찰은 한 달 동안 시범 운영한 뒤단말기를 설치해 확대 여부를 결정할 계획입니다.

Unmanned stores without resident clerks are popping up everywhere these days, right? However, even with CCTV, thefts continue to occur. The police have come up with a new idea to suppress criminal psychology. Reporter Lee Ji-hyun covered this story. A primary school student entered an unmanned store. When the product he took by the box was not paid for, he scanned individual items dozens of times and paid for them. When this student's actions were reported, he was praised nationwide. From March 2021 to June 2022, there were over 6,300 reported thefts at unmanned stores. However, only about half of them were caught. There was a couple who broke the kiosk key and took it, and there were people who wore masks and gloves and stole items. The police, who were struggling with realistic limitations such as manpower, installed video equipment at the unmanned store checkout. Chungju Police are always watching over you, wherever and whenever. By showing the patrol car and CCTV control center, they are sending a message that the police are always watching, aiming to deter crime. Because there are situations where one can unknowingly commit a crime in such an environment where crime is inevitable. In Jeju, where a conscience mirror was installed, the number of reported victims has decreased by more than half in three months, so similar effects are expected. When children ask, 'What is this, boss?' Then this is watching to see if the children are calculating well. There is also a point that a clearer and more serious warning message is needed for children who can be impulsively swept away. It is believed that periodically broadcasting warnings that illegal activities within unmanned stores can be punished will also have some effect.
