최근 한 무인 점포의 주인이 물건을 훔치는 초등학생들의 신상을 공개해서 논란이 되고 있죠.
너무 과한 거 아니냐, 오죽했으면 공개했겠냐.
이렇게 의견이 분분한 상황인데요.
CCTV나 보안 장치가 있어도 아랑곳하지 않고 물건을 훔쳐가는 도난 사건이 잇따르고 있지만, 반대로 점주들의 마음을 훈훈하게 하는 양심적인 손님들도 있습니다.
이지현 기자의 보도 함께 보시겠습니다. 한 무인 점포 계산대 앞에 어린이가 서 있습니다.
계산하려는 것은 유명 캐릭터 카드 60개 2상자, 5만 원어치입니다.
신용카드를 꽂고 누른 회색 버튼.
결제가 아닌 취소 버튼이었습니다.
그리고는 카드 상자를 옷에 감추고 태연히 가게를 떠납니다.
결제하는 척만 하고 훔쳐간 건데, 점주는 어린 아이라 신고는 하지 않았습니다. 다음 날, 이번에는 다른 어린이 2명이 매대에서 캐릭터 카드 상자 1개를 꺼내듭니다.
어제 도난당했던 같은 제품입니다.
보통 낱개로 팔기 때문에 상자에는 가격표가 붙어 있지 않아 결제할 수 없습니다.
미등록은 아예 저 키오스크에 등록 자체가 되지 않기 때문에 바코드가 나오지 않아요.
그래서 결제를 할 수가 없어요.
그런데 아이의 행동은 달랐습니다.
어제처럼 그냥 훔쳐가는 게 아니었습니다. 아이는 개봉된 상자의 카드가 전부 몇 개 있는지 세어보더니 그중 1개를 들고 계산대로 가 무인 계산대 화면을 계속 눌렀습니다.
정확히 30번.
계산을 마친 뒤 계산했었던 낱개 제품도 제자리에 돌려놓습니다.
당시 이곳 점포를 함께 찾은 또 다른 친구 외에는 아무도 없는 상태였습니다. 3년 남짓 무인 점포를 운영해 오면서 절도 사건만 수십 건.
키오스크 열쇠를 아예 부러뜨리고 가져간 남녀 커플도 있었고, 마스크 눈만 내놓고 아주 그냥 장갑까지끼고 훔쳐 가는 사람도 있었고.
그러다 보니 CCTV를 보다 우연히 본 아이의 행동이 어쩌면 당연했지만 너무 기특했습니다.
어르신들도 좀 약간 부끄러움을 느꼈으면 좋겠어요.
인성이 그런 애는 앞으로 뭘 해도 잘할 것같아요.

The owner did not report the theft because the thief was a young child. The next day, two other children take out a box of character cards from the counter. In the nearly three years of operating the unmanned store, there have been dozens of theft cases. There was a couple who broke the kiosk key and took it, and there were people who stole while only showing their eyes from behind a mask and even wearing gloves.
