민주노총의 대규모 집회에 앞서 경비 대책 회의를 주재하러 간 겁니다.
집회 현장을 지휘할 때 입는 기동복 차림이 눈길을 끌었습니다.
어제 상황 점검 회의에서 지시한 캡사이신 사용 가능성에 취재진의 질문이 쏟아졌습니다.
캡사이신은 현장 상황에 따라서 부득이 사용이 필요하다고 그러면, 현장 지휘관의 판단으로 사용할 수 있도록 준비하라고 했습니다.
최루제 사용을 공식화한 건 6년 만입니다. 일각에서는 과잉 대응이라는 논란이 일었지만, 윤 청장은 개의치 않았습니다.
강경 대응이라는 말씀에는 제가 동의를 못하겠습니다.
관행적으로 자행되어 왔던 불법에 대해서 경찰로서 해야 할 역할을 주저 없이 당당하게 하겠다는 게 원칙입니다.라고 말했습니다. 지난 16일과 17일, 건설노조 1박 2일 노숙 농성 이후 윤 청장은 연일 노동계와 대립각을 세우고 있습니다.
야간문화제 등을 빙자한 불법 집회에 대해서는 현장에서 해산 조치하겠습니다.라고 말했습니다.
윤석열 대통령이 힘을 실어주며 지원 사격에 나섰고, 국민의 자유와 기본권을 침해하고 공공질서를 무너뜨린 민노총의 집회 형태는 국민들께서 용납하기 어려울 것입니다.라고 말했습니다. 이틀 뒤, 금속노조와 비정규직 단체의 야간문화제를 강제 해산하며 참가자 3명을 현장에서 연행했습니다.
집회 해산과 참가자 체포에 중점을 둔 고강도 집회 대응 훈련도 사실상 6년 만에 부활했다는 평가입니다.
경찰은 어제 내부 통신망에 특별 승진 계획도 공지했습니다.
집회 관리에 공적을 세우면 포상하겠다.며 경감 이하 실무 경찰관 13명을 대상으로 특진을 내걸었습니다.
경찰은 작년 말에도 화물연대 파업 시위 공로로 부산경찰청 소속 경관 3명을 1계급 특진시켰습니다.
