이 문제 앞서, 여론 조사를 진행한 복지교육팀 임소정 기자와 좀 더 들여다보겠습니다.
임 기자, 직접 조사한 수치 보니까 더 심각하게 느껴지네요.
청년들, 결혼과 출산을 기피하는 건 추세가 맞는 것 같은데 이번 조사 보면 결혼도 하고 싶고 아이도 낳고 싶은데 망설이는 경우가 많은 것으로 나왔어요.
그런 경우가 미혼 남녀의 절반이 넘는 것으로 나타났습니다.
일종의 보류 상태가 많은 거죠.
보류.
결혼도 아이도 원하지만 상황이 안 되면 선택하지 않는 쪽으로 가게 되는 겁니다.
그래서 그들의 상황을 좀 더 들여다 봐야 하는 거고요.
그러니까 망설이는 이유가 뭔가, 여기에서 출발해야 한다는 건데 가장 큰 이유, 역시 경제적 부담때문일까요?
아무래도 경제적 문제를 빼놓고 이야기할 수는 없을 것 같습니다.
미혼, 기혼 남녀 모두 아이를 낳기 전에 해결해야 할 문제로 경제적 안정을 가장 많이 꼽았고요.
저희가 연애에 대해서도 물어봤는데요.
현재 연애 중인 사람은 10명 중 4명이 채 안 됐고 연애 경험이 없는 경우도 21%나 됐습니다.
연애도 돈이 있어야 할 수 있다, 그런 건가 보죠?
그렇습니다.
특히 소득이 적을수록 경험이 없었는데 소득이 없는 경우에는 36.6%나 경험이 없었습니다.
다만 전문가들은 경제적 문제가 해결된다고 해서 바로 결혼과 출산으로 이어지는 건 아니라고 강조하고있는데요.
과거와 달라진 청년들의 삶의 방식이나 가치관들을 다각적으로 분석을 해서 해법을 모색해야 한다는 겁니다.
그런데 앞서 리포트에서도 나왔듯이 이미 초등학교 입학생 한 명도 없는 곳이 점점 늘어나고 있단말이죠?
인구 절벽 문제 현실화하고있습니다.
-(기자) 이번 조사 결과에서도 사실 위기가 포착이 됐습니다.
호남과 영남 지역에 거주하는 사람들 가운데 아이를 낳지 않겠다고 응답한 비율이 높게 나온 건데요.
그런데 이 지역들은 사실 세종시 다음으로 출산율이 높은 지역들입니다.
이런 곳들에서조차 아이를 낳겠다는 사람들이 줄어든다면 출산율은 더 떨어질 수밖에 없겠죠.
사실 이 원인에 대해서는 앞으로 조금 더 들여다 봐야 할 것 같은데요.
정부도 오늘 긴급 전문가 회의를 열고 내일은 청년 간담회를 잡는 등 대책 마련에 서두르고 있습니다.
