코레일의 한 직원이 그룹 BTS 멤버의 개인정보를 들여다봤다는 사실이 내부 감사에서 적발됐습니다.
그 직원은 BTS 멤버가 열차를 타고 어디에 갔는지뿐 아니라 사는 곳과 휴대전화 번호까지 들여다봤습니다.

KTX 옆에서 포즈를 취하는 등 기차에 대한 애정도 남다릅니다.
지난 2021년 1월에는 서울발 동대구행 KTX 열차표를 끊었는데, 이 여행 일정을 코레일 직원 A 씨가 몰래 열람했습니다.
A 씨는 승차권 정보와 함께 RM이 코레일 회원 가입 때 등록해둔 주소와 휴대전화 번호, 기종 등도 수시로 들여다봤습니다.
2019년부터 시작된 열람은 3년간 18차례나 계속됐습니다. 고객 개인정보는 권한이 부여된 부서에서 업무 목적으로만 열람 가능한데, A 씨는 예약 발매 시스템을 개발, 운영하는 IT 부서에 근무해 접근이 가능했습니다.
A 씨는 RM의 예약 내역을 확인해 실물을 보고 왔다거나, 친구가 근처 좌석을 끊을 수 있게 알려줬다며 주변에 알렸다가 꼬리가 잡혔습니다. 코레일은 유명 연예인의 개인정보를 무단 조회하는 직원이 있다는 내부 제보를 받고 감사를 벌였습니다.
코레일은 A 씨가 RM의 개인정보를 무단 조회한 사실은 확인했지만, 외부 유출 정황은 파악하지 못했다고 밝혔습니다.
A 씨는 또 TV 프로그램에 출연해 화제가 된 코레일 남성 직원의 개인정보도 조회했던 것으로 확인됐습니다. 코레일 감사위는 고객 개인정보 보호 규정을 어긴 A 씨에게 정직 처분을 권고했습니다.
A 씨는 단순 호기심 때문에 조회했으며, 잘못을 반성한다고 소명한 것으로 전해졌습니다.

It was revealed in an internal audit that an employee of Korail had looked into the personal information of a BTS member. The employee not only looked into where the BTS member went by train, but also where he lived and his mobile phone number. Reporter Sagong Seong-geun exclusively covered this story. This is a travel photo posted by BTS leader RM on social media. His love for trains is evident as he poses next to a KTX. In January 2021, he bought a KTX ticket from Seoul to Dongdaegu, and this travel itinerary was secretly viewed by Korail employee A. Mr. A frequently looked into the address and mobile phone number that RM had registered when he signed up for a Korail membership, as well as the ticket information. The viewing started in 2019 and continued 18 times over three years. Customer personal information can only be viewed for business purposes by authorized departments, but Mr. A was able to access it because he worked in the IT department that develops and operates the reservation sales system. Mr. A was caught after he checked RM's reservation details and told others that he had seen the actual ticket, or that he had informed a friend so they could book a nearby seat. Korail conducted an audit after receiving an internal tip that there was an employee who was unauthorizedly viewing the personal information of famous celebrities. Korail confirmed that Mr. A had unauthorizedly viewed RM's personal information, but said it could not identify any signs of external leakage. It was also confirmed that Mr. A had viewed the personal information of a male Korail employee who had appeared on a TV program and became a topic of conversation. The Korail Audit Committee recommended disciplinary action against Mr. A for violating customer personal information protection regulations. It was reported that Mr. A claimed he had viewed the information out of simple curiosity and expressed remorse for his actions.
