사고 당시 아시아나항공 측은 착륙 직후 뛰어내리려던 이 남성을 제압한 뒤, 경찰에 곧바로 인계했다고 밝혔습니다.

하지만 아시아나항공 측의 이런 설명과는 달리, 해당 남성은 당시 아무런 제지도 받지 않은 채 공항을 그대로 빠져나갔던 것으로 드러났습니다.

지난 26일 낮 12시 39분, 아시아나항공 여객기가 비상문이 열린 채 대구 공항에 착륙했습니다.

착륙 직후 비상문 바로 옆 30대 승객이 안전벨트를 풀고 뛰어내리려 했습니다.

이때 승무원들과 승객들이 함께 남성을 저지했습니다.

승무원이 손님과 함께 비상구 문을 연 손님이 내리려고 하는 걸 제압을 했다, 이 정도로만 말씀드릴게요.

그리고 213m 상공에서 비상문을 연 남성을 항공관리법에 따라 경찰에 바로 넘겼다고 밝혔습니다.

바로 체포가 이루어졌습니까?

저희는 경찰에 인계할 때까지 우리가 보호를 하고 있어야 되잖아요.

경찰에 신고하고 경찰이 왔을 때 바로 넘겨줬죠. 그런데 이 남성은 이상한 곳에서 목격됐습니다.

국토부가 밝힌 비행기 착륙 시각은 12시39분.

10분가량 지난 12시 50분쯤 승객들이 내리기 시작했는데, 낮 1시 3분, 대구공항 청사 밖 버스정류장에서 검은 모자를 쓴 남성이 앉아 있는 모습이 포착됐습니다.

비상문을 열었던 아시아나항공이 경찰에 바로 넘겼다는 그 남성이 청사 밖까지 나왔던 겁니다.

착륙 직후 비행기에서 뛰어내리려던 이 남성을 승무원과 함께 막았던 한 탑승객이 길 건녀편에서 남성을 알아봤습니다.

그 실신했던 승객이 벤치에 앉아있는 거예요.

그 벤치 앞에 공항버스가 서는 시티투어버스가 서는 그 벤치였어요.

곧바로 체포돼 인계됐다는 항공사 측의 설명과 다른 겁니다.

이 남성이 공항 밖에 나와 혼자 있던 정황을 취재진이 제시하자, 아시아나 측은 말을 바꿨습니다.

그때만 해도 이 손님이 문을 연 거는 몰랐어요.

그냥 이 손님이 비상구 바로 앞에 있으니까 이상 상태가, 너무 놀라서 뛰어내리려고 해서 이제 승무원이 잡았고.

경찰이 확인한 결과, 아시아나항공이 처음 경찰에 신고한 시각은 낮 1시 20분쯤.

승객들이 비행기에서 내리기 시작한 낮 12시 50분으로부터 30분이 지난 뒤였습니다.

남성이 공항 밖으로 나갈 때까지 항공사 측은 누가 비상문을 열었는지 파악하지 못했던 것으로 추정할 수 있는 대목입니다.

당연히 구조 상황이었지, 그게 제압 상황이 아닙니다.

그리고 승무원이 '죄송합니다, 죄송합니다.' 남성이 경찰에 체포된 과정도 우연에 가까웠습니다.

아시아나항공 직원이 마침 버스정류장에 있던 남성에게 불편함이 없는지를 물었는데, 이 남성이 갑자기 비상문 레버를 작동하면 어떻게 되는지를 되묻자 그제서야 이상한 낌새를 눈치채고 신고가 이루어진 겁니다.

국토교통부는 아시아나 항공사의 대응이 적절했는지 현장 조사를 진행하고 있으며, 경찰은 남성에 대해 항공보안법 위반과 함께 상해 혐의를 추가할지 검토 중입니다.
