지난 2021년부터는 중국 산둥 타이산 팀에서 뛰고 있습니다.
손 선수는 지난 12일 상하이 훈처구 공항에서 가족들과 함께 한국행 비행기를 타기 직전 중국 공안에 형사 구류됐습니다.
형사 구류는 보통 현행범이나 피의자에 대한 강제 수사로, 손 선수는 이후 닷새째 구금된 상태입니다. 중국 외교부는 오늘에야 손 선수에 대한 입장을 밝혔습니다.
랴오닝성 공안기관이 비국무위원 뇌물수수혐의로 한국 국민 한 명을 법에 따라 형사 구류했습니다.
한국 영사관들이 영사 업무를 수행하는 데 필요한 편의를 제공할 것입니다.
하지만 손 선수가 받고 있는 혐의가 뇌물을 줬다는 건지, 받았다는 건지, 조사도 피의자 신분으로 받는 건지, 단순 참고인인 건지 파악되지 않고 있습니다. 손준호 선수의 에이전트 박대연 씨는 가족들도 구체적인 내용을 영사로부터 전달받지 못했고, 현재 피가 마르고 있는 상황이라고 전했습니다.
작년부터 중국 축구계는 승부조작 등 각종 비리에 휩싸였는데, 최근에는 손 선수의 소속팀 감독과 선수 등이 공안에서 조사를 받아, 손 선수의 체포도 이 수사 과정에서 이루어진 것으로 보입니다.
하지만 손 선수 측은 손 선수가 팀내 최고연봉자이고, 감독과의 유착도 없다며 뇌물 수수를 할 상황이 아니라고 비리와는 선을 그었습니다.
또 가족들 일로 일시 출국하려던 것이고, 중국 복귀 항공권도 끊은 상태였다며 도피하려는 것도 아니었다고 설명했습니다. 손 선수에 대한 우리 영사의 면담은 구류 엿새째인 내일에서야 이루어지는데, 손 선수 측은 영사 면담 이후 구체적인 상황을 파악해 변호사 선임 등 법적 대응을 할 계획이라고 밝혔습니다.
사건 담당인 한국 선양 총영사관 측은 영사면담이 늦게 이루어지는 것 아니냐는 질문에 한중 영사 협정과 영사 조력법에 따라 필요한 영사 조력을 하고 있다며 명확한 답변은 피했습니다.
