MBC 소속 기자가 사는 아파트에 경찰 수사관들이 들이닥쳤습니다.
한동훈 법무부 장관의 개인 정보 유출 의혹을 수사 중인 서울 경찰청이 압수수색 영장 집행에 나선 겁니다.
경찰은 기자 소유 차량과 집 내부 등을 차례로 수색한 뒤, 업무용 휴대전화와 노트북 등을 확보했습니다.
지난해 4월 국회에 제출됐던 한 장관의 인사 청문 자료가 유출된 정황에 해당 기자가 연루된 것으로 경찰은 의심하고 있습니다.
당시 정치팀 소속이었던 이 기자는 이후 미국을 방문한 윤석열 대통령의 비속어 논란 발언을 보도했다가 국민의힘으로부터 박성재 전 사장 등과 명예훼손 혐의로 고발됐습니다.
지난 2020년에는 이른바 검사 술 접대 사건보도와 관련해 한동훈 장관으로부터 3000만 원의 손해배상 청구 소송을 당하기도 했습니다.
현직 기자에 대한 강제 수사에 전격 착수한 경찰은 소속 언론사인 MBC 본사 뉴스룸에도 압수수색을 시도했습니다.
해당 기자가 근무하는 공간에서도 관련 증거를 확보할 필요가 있다며 내부 진입을 시도하다 이를 제지하는 사원들과 대치했습니다.
경찰은 대치 2시간여 만인 정오쯤 압수수색에 앞서 현장을 확인하겠다며 사옥 안으로 진입했고, 해당 기자의 책상과 집기에 압수 대상물이 없다는 걸 확인한 뒤 오후 1시 반쯤 철수했습니다.
한 장관의 개인 정보 유출 의혹 수사는 김민석 서울강서구의회 의원의 고발로 시작됐습니다.
김 의원은 민주당 측 인사로 알려진 서 모 씨가 한 장관과 가족의 개인 정보를 유출했다며 지난달 경찰에 고발했습니다.
경찰은 한 장관의 인사청문 관련 자료가 유출된 경로를 확인하기 위해 국회사무처 의안과도 압수수색했습니다.

Police investigators stormed into the apartment where the MBC reporter lives. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, which is investigating the suspicion of leaking personal information of Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon, has executed a search and seizure warrant. The police searched the reporter's car and the inside of the house in turn, and secured business mobile phones and laptops. The police suspect that the reporter was involved in the leak of the personnel hearing materials of Minister Han, which were submitted to the National Assembly last April. The reporter, who was a member of the political team at the time, reported on President Yoon Seok-yeol's vulgar remarks during his visit to the United States, and was accused of defamation by the People's Power, including former President Park Sung-jae. In 2020, he was also sued for 30 million won in damages from Minister Han Dong-hoon in relation to the so-called prosecutor's alcohol entertainment incident. The police, who started a forced investigation against the incumbent reporter, also attempted to search and seize the MBC newsroom headquarters. They tried to enter the interior, saying that they needed to secure related evidence even in the space where the reporter works, and confronted the employees who were blocking them. After about two hours of confrontation, the police entered the building around noon to check the scene before the search and seizure, and withdrew around 1:30 pm after confirming that there were no items to be seized on the reporter's desk and furniture. The investigation into the suspicion of leaking personal information of Minister Han started with the accusation of Kim Min-seok, a member of the Seoul Gangseo-gu Council. Councilman Kim accused a person known as a Democratic Party figure, Mr. Seo, of leaking personal information of Minister Han and his family to the police last month. The police also searched and seized the National Assembly Secretariat's bill to confirm the route of the leak of Minister Han's personnel hearing materials. This is MBC News, Lee Dong-kyung.
